Good afternoon. Due to inclement weather, Jackson County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 6, 2025. School employees will operate on a Code C unless your supervisor issues other instructions. Also, all school activities and trips are canceled for the day. After my weather briefing with the National Weather Service on Monday, I will send out a communication regarding Tuesday's status as soon as possible. Please stay safe. Have a wonderful evening.

Good evening RMS Parents, reminder that students will be taking the iReady Benchmark Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Jackson County Board of Education has graciously provided an incentive for students as they take the middle of the year benchmark. The incentive includes bowling and pizza in January for those who meet the following criteria. Ripley Middle School 2nd i-Ready Benchmark Incentive: - Top 7 scale scores in each grade level ELA + Math = Total. (21). - Top 129 (6-8 grade) in total scale score growth in ELA and Math (129). - Total students. 150 Students will go bowling and get pizza.

Good morning RMS Parents, this evening, Thursday, November 21st there will be a boys' basketball scrimmage at Ripley Middle school. The team will be hosting an Animal Shelter drive as admission donations to the scrimmage. Please bring items to support the Jackson County Animal Shelter. These could include dry food for dogs and cats, Toys for dogs and cats, litter and even cleaning products. If you are unable to grab any of these items, monetary donations will gladly be accepted. Also, starting Friday, November 22nd and every Friday in December, the sixth grade will be doing a fundraiser. Each Friday, students may pay $2.00 to wear a hat for the day. This will be open to all grade levels. Hats that are a distraction will not be allowed. Please have students bring exact change to the gym as they enter to receive sticker pass to wear hat for the day. Thank you and have a great day!

Good evening RMS 8th Grade Parents, It is time for our next fundraiser! We have partnered with Swiftees to offer unique merchandise to raise money for our DC trip. This is an online sale. A few things to keep in mind: Students will earn $6 per item sold. Customers MUST include the student’s name when ordering for the student to earn credit. The sale will end on November 24. All orders should be back in time for Christmas. Copies of the QR code are included in the information envelope. Just take a picture with a phone and the customer will be directed to the website. All items will be delivered to Ripley Middle School UNLESS the customer has chosen for the item(s) to be delivered to their home at their expense. Good evening Ripley Middle School Parents, attention all winter and spring sport athletes. Ripley Middle School will be hosting a brief meeting about our cardiac response plan on Sunday, November 3, at 2:00 PM in the cafeteria. Please use the lobby entrance. We are now required to host these meetings prior to the start of sports. As part of this, all coaches will supply a form which will require a parent and student signature regarding acknowledgement of our plan prior to the start of the first practice. The meeting is optional, but attendance is recommended. Each sport will also have individual plans which will be reviewed by each individual sport coach prior to the start of practice. Good evening RMS Parents, Archery Practice for 6th Grade starts Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 5:00-7:00 pm in the cafeteria. Parents, wait in your vehicles until practice is over. Physical forms will need to be turned in at practice if not before. 7th and 8th Graders Archery papers will be sent home next week and practice for 7th and 8th grade will start on November 13th.
