Good evening RMS Family, tomorrow, 3/13/25 is Spring School Picture Day. Only students who missed school pictures in September and students whose parent/guardian is ordering pictures are permitted to have their picture taken tomorrow. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) who wish to order pictures may go to www.mylifetouch.com and create an account or login and use the Picture Day ID: EVTP7TMPJ to order pictures even tomorrow morning before school starts. These are the pictures you can choose a different background than the beginning of the year pictures. If you have any questions, please reach out to Lifetouch on the same website. Good evening Ripley Middle School Parents, attention all spring sport athletes. Ripley Middle School will be hosting a brief meeting about our cardiac response plan on Sunday, March 2, at 2:00 PM in the cafeteria. Please use the lobby entrance. We are now required to host these meetings prior to the start of sports. As part of this, all coaches will supply a form which will require a parent and student signature regarding acknowledgement of our plan prior to the start of the first practice. The meeting is optional, but attendance is recommended. Each sport will also have individual plans which will be reviewed by each individual sport coach prior to the start of practice. Drop students at the designated location and exit by the tower. Afternoon Pickup Procedures: parents will enter the gate at the end of the driver education lot (from Klondyke). Pick up students at the designated location and exit by the tower. This process will be slower than our current process so please be patient. Reminder that buses will be staged on West School Street blocking traffic from the bridge toward RMS. Traffic will be stopped at 3:06 by the bridge. Cars will be permitted to travel from the bridge to RMS once the students are safely on the bus and buses departing. We continue to highly recommend for parents to wait until 3:20 to attempt to pick up their child in order to miss the traffic and congestion. Good evening RMS Family, the new afternoon pickup procedures will plan to start Monday afternoon, 2/24/25. Contractors plan to put the construction fence up between the tower and road on Monday. New morning drop-off procedures will start on Tuesday, 2/25/25. One major change for morning drop off will be that parents now ENTER AND EXIT at the drivers education entrance/exit on Klondyke. The gate has been extended to where vehicles can now pass. When you enter to drop your child please stay to the right side of the lot, drop your child at the designated drop closest to the school, and do a complete circle exiting the drivers education lot. Once students are dropped off they will walk along the construction fence entering the school through the main lobby doors located by the front office. Good morning, Jackson County Schools will now operate on an NTI Day for Thursday, February 20, 2025. Students should utilize their final instructional packet, number 5, or log in to the Canvas learning management system to complete their assignments. School personnel will be available at your child's school at 10:00 a.m. to answer any questions you may have. Thank you and have a great day

Jackson County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for Thursday, February 19, 2025. Snow is expected to enter our area around midnight, lasting until 8:00 a.m. One to two inches of snow is expected. We will evaluate the roads again in the morning. Please have a wonderful evening.

Good afternoon, this is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Jackson County Schools. First, I would like to apologize for any concern that my decision this morning to have school has caused you. The decision was made from information gained through our school weather debriefing the evening before, and our early morning snow drivers reporting snow had not begun. However, I take full responsibility for this decision. Unfortunately, the system has moved north placing Jackson County in its path until 12:30 p.m. today. Instead of releasing students early, after careful review of all weather information, we will dismiss schools at the normal time allowing the Department of Highways time to treat roads before the evening commute. Please expect bus delays this evening. Our goal is to take all precautionary measures to ensure a safe trip home for all children and staff. If your child drives to school, please consider picking them up or having them ride a bus home. Also, our principals will stay at their schools until all students have been picked up and returned home safely. Once again, I apologize for this morning and the issues it has caused. Thank you.

Good evening RMS Family, we are excited to start the renovation process at Ripley Middle School. Throughout this process we know that communication is key and safety is our first priority. We will have slight changes to our drop off and pick up plan in the near future. This will be the first change of many as the construction progresses. We will continue to update you when we are aware of other changes. Good evening RMS Family, the 7th Grade will be hosting Cupid Fest on February 18th from 3:30-5:00. Any 6th-8th Grade student is welcome to join us for dancing, games, and fun! You must be present all day and cannot be on social probation to attend. Students must remain at school in order to attend also.
