Good evening RMS 8th Grade Parents, On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the 8th grade students will travel by bus to the Roane Jackson Technical Center. Students will tour the Technical Center and have a short assembly with the principal. Half of the 8th grade students, (most of Team 6) will travel in the morning and the other half (most of Team 7) will travel in the afternoon. Both groups will eat lunch at the middle school either after they return or before they leave. Please be advised that your student will be out of the middle school building for a portion of the day. Our School Based Wellness Center will come to our school and administer these immunizations to your child if you want. Call the school and sign up with our school nurse. She will send an enrollment form home with your child. If your child has already had the vaccines or you plan on getting the immunizations somewhere else, no action is required.
You’ll be notified when we have a date for the immunization clinic.

Students entering 7th grade next year have immunization requirements that must be met before they can start school in August.
All West Virginia students entering 7th grade must have had one dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) and one dose of the meningococcal vaccine.

Pictures are going to be taking place this Friday, March 15th, first thing in the morning for pictures that have been preordered and students who have brought in the order form the day of pictures. Pictures will only be taken if they are preordered or the order form is returned to school on Friday. Good evening RMS Parents, The deadline for the 2023-2024 RMS yearbook is coming up quickly! May 1st is the last day to order a yearbook. The cost is $35, and there are two ways to order.
Ask your homeroom teacher or Mr. Burgess (Room 112) for an order form, fill it out, and bring a check or cash back to your teacher, or Go to www.yearbookordercenter.com, enter the code 4204 and follow the on-screen prompts to place your order.
Mr. Burgess is also needing parents and students to submit pictures from sports activities and summer/fair activities that you were involved in since school let out last year to www.hjeshare.com, again enter the code 4204, and fill out all information there for a chance to see your pictures in the 2023-2024 yearbook.

Good evening RMS 8th Grade Parents, on Wednesday, March 6, 8th grade students will be walking to Ripley High School to watch the Blue Phoenix Performance. Students who are on social probation will not be attending. Students will leave around 9:30am and return around 11:00am. We still plan to walk to RHS even if there is a light rain, so bring jackets. Good evening parents and guardians. This is a friendly reminder that Monday, February 19, 2024, is a Professional Learning Day for school employees. This means that students will not have classes. Good evening RMS Parents, our lost and found has grown significantly. We have laid out clothing in the gym earlier in the week and will be laying it out again on Friday morning.
